This function in Microsoft Excel extract the year corresponding to serial number or data text.

Syntax/Formula:

The syntax of YEAR function in Microsoft Excel is below.

=YEAR("month/date/year")

Example:

Step 1: First type date for ex. 25-12-1955 in cell A6

Step 2: Type formula =YEAR(A6) in cell A8 and press enter.
