Use of ABS function/formula in Microsoft Excel:


This function in Microsoft Excel returns the absolute value of a number.
The absolute value of a number is the number without its sign.


Syntax/Formula:

The syntax of ABS function in Microsoft Excel is below.

=ABS(number)


Example:

Step 1: Type -25 in cell B6, 100 in cell B7, and -49 in cell B8 as per shown in below image.

Step 2: Type formula in cell C6 =ABS(B6) and press enter. Now you can see absolute value of cell B6 is 25.

Step 3: Copy formula =ABS(B6) from cell C6 and pest it in cell C7 and C8.
