The syntax of AVERAGE function in Microsoft Excel is below.

=AVERAGE(number,[number2], …)

Example:

Step 1: First type number 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in cell B5 to B9.

Step 2: Type formula =AVERAGE(B5:B9) IN CELL B11 and press enter.
