Use of COUNT function/formula in Microsoft Excel:

This function in Microsoft Excel returns the number of values in selected data cell range.
This function doesn't count data cells that contain words because this cells are ignored as they cannot be translated into numerical values.

Syntax/Formula:

The syntax of COUNT function in Microsoft Excel is below.

=COUNT(Value1,[value2],…)

Example:

Step1: First type ADVANCE in cell B5, MS in cell B6, 123 in cell B7, EXCEL in cell B8, 20 in cell B9 and .BLOGSPOT.COM in cell B10.

Step2 : Type formula =count(B5:B11) in cell B13 and press enter.
